Len Myers

Virginia House of Delegates District 81

A proud son of Virginia, Len Myers is an accomplished consumer rights attorney who began his legal career as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia before entering private practice. He currently sits on the Virginia State Bar’s advisory council to the Virginia Supreme Court, having been appointed after his successful tenure as president of the South Hampton Roads Bar Association, where under his leadership, it was recognized as “Local Bar of the Year” by the Council of Local Bar Associations.

Public service is important to Len. He served the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, most recently on the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Comprehensive Planning Strategies and as the chair of the Chesapeake Transportation Toll Facility Advisory Committee where he also served for five years and is a member of the Chesapeake Emergency Response Team.

Len also served the people of Virginia for seven years as an officer in the Virginia Defense Force, a component of the Virginia National Guard, where he was commended by the adjutant general of the Virginia National Guard and awarded the Virginia Defense Force Commendation Medal for meritorious performance, both while deployed in response to Hurricane Irene in 2011.

Len also believes in finding opportunities to inspire our community’s at-risk youth to reach their full potential. That’s why Len has served on local boards such as the Boys & Girls Clubs and the YMCA, while also serving as an adjunct professor of Business Law at Tidewater Community College and now Norfolk State University.

Len also volunteers at Calvary Revival Church and at his son’s school Simonsdale Elementary. And most importantly, Len spends every minute possible with “the best two kids in the world,” his son and daughter who also happen to be his cutest supporters.
